About Me
I began this journey in 2003 when I bought my first digital camera (an HP compact). I only got it so I could shoot church events, not really thinking it would become a passion…but slowly it did. After seeing all the cool things that can be done with and to pictures, I taught myself Photoshop and began to go out and shoot zoos, parks, conservatories…every attraction Chicago has to offer.
Today, I still shoot for my church website and at events, but now I also do weddings and special occasions whenever I can. In 2007 I purchased my first DSLR: a Sony A100 camera. In 2009 I added the A300. I find Sony cameras to be very nice and rich in features; plus, being able to use thousands of lenses with them gives me lots of options.
In 2007 I had the privilege to compete in the Sony World Photography Awards and earlier this year I participated in the 2009 Worldwide Photowalk along with more than 39,000 photographers around the world.
For those of you who want to know what I use for my photos here’s the scoop. My computer of choice is Macs…I have a black Macbook, 500Gb drive and 2 gb memory. I use Adobe Lightroom to process my photos and Photoshop to fine tune them. All my photos are stored on an external Western Digital 500Gb drive, and I also use an external Western Digital Passport 500Gb drive when I’m mobile.
There you have it. Please feel free to e-mail me at lenzman@ymail.com with any comments.
